I’m Zac, the founder of Lore & Lumen, and I’m so glad you’re here. If you’re anything like me, your favorite worlds aren’t always the ones outside your front door.
I’ve spent most of my life exploring fantasy realms. From MMOs like EverQuest and World of Warcraft to single-player adventures like Morrowind and Skyrim, these games have been a huge part of my journey. One of my favorite memories is waking up before the sun to play EverQuest with my mom and brother. We had three computers set up side by side, and while the game loaded, the scent of fresh coffee would fill the room. That smell mixed with the nostalgic aroma of our Febreze Scent Stories discs. It’s funny how scent stays with you, tucked into your memories like a bookmark.
Years later, I found myself chasing that same feeling. What if scent could be part of the story? What if a candle wasn’t just something in the background, but something that grounded you in the world you were playing in?
That’s how Lore & Lumen came to life.
What is Lore & Lumen?
Lore & Lumen creates immersive experiences through scent that transport you to new realms. Think of it like worldbuilding for your senses. Every candle is carefully crafted to match the biomes, moods, and adventures found in the games and stories we love. Whether it’s a coastal trek with your D&D party or a cozy night farming in Stardew Valley, the scent should make the moment feel more alive.
But this is not just about making good-smelling candles. It is about supporting your stories and adventures through scent. Something you can look back on and instantly remember. A specific scent tied to your favorite game, campaign, or character. Each blend is developed with intention and tested with care. The goal is to amplify the atmosphere of your game, your space, or your own creative world.
Why We Exist
Whether you are lighting Tidewake while adventuring along a windswept shore in your Dungeons & Dragons or Baldur’s Gate campaign, burning Tavernlight to match the cozy mood of your inn in Travelers Rest, or setting Sunforged aglow as you journey across Durotar in World of Warcraft, the goal remains the same. I want Lore & Lumen to be part of your story. These scents are designed to help you feel like you are truly there, no matter where your imagination takes you.
What Comes Next
Right now, Lore & Lumen is focused on candles. There are still so many memories and experiences I plan to capture through scent. Beyond candles, I also intend to expand into stationery items like journals and sticky notes, along with wax melts, room sprays, and other immersive goods. Everything will be created with the same sense of intentional magic.
For now, I’m simply grateful to have you on this journey.
